2013 AFC East NFL Football Odds – Patriots Still Expected To Wear Crown As Kings Of AFC East In 2013

The 2013 offseason didn’t appear to start out very favorably for the New England Patriots when they lost their leading receiver in Wes Welker to a rival contender in the Denver Broncos. It’s been all up hill since then. The Patriots found out that tight end Rob Gronkowski needed more surgery, then hit rock bottom when they found out that tight end Aaron Hernandez had been charged with first-degree murder. That hasn’t shaken the experts responsible for the NFL Football Odds for sites listed on the sportsbook reviews, as New England is still the AFC East favorite at -450 odds.

2013 AFC East NFL Football Odds New England Patriots – 450 NFL Football Odds  – As long as Tom Brady is at quarterback and Bill Belichick is on the sideline, there is a pretty good chance that the Patriots will be favored to win their price per head division. New England added veteran free agents Danny Amendola and Donald Jones, as well as rookies Josh Broyce and Aaron Dobson at wide receiver to offset the loss of Welker and more, and could play a more wide open style with no Gronkowski or Hernandez. The Patriots’ rushing attack was much better with Stevan Ridley and Shane Vereen a year ago, and Vereen could see time at tight end with Gronkowski out. The defense is also expected to take another step forward with some quality young pieces taking on bigger roles, led by a front-seven that includes Pro Bowl talents Vince Wilfork, Jerod Mayo, and Dont’a Hightower. New England will need more out of its pass rush and secondary to improve the pass defense, but the pieces are there to succeed within the division.

Miami Dolphins + 450 – The Dolphins are expected to take another step forward with second-year quarterback Ryan Tannehill flanked by a handful of new weapons, including star wide receiver Mike Wallace, who was signed to help spread the defense and give the offense the vertical threat it lacked a year ago. Miami also added wide receiver Brandon Gibson and tight end Dustin Keller to fill out the offense, while moving up in the draft to select linebacker Dion Jordan third-overall. Jordan is expected to make an immediate impact in the pass rush, and should solidify the front-seven of a defense that should be better. The Dolphins aren’t ready to contend with the Patriots just yet, but they have laid the foundation for a strong future of sports betting success.

New York Jets NFL Football Odds + 1400 – Last season was one of the most forgettable in franchise history for the Jets, and Rex Ryan will be on a short leash after managing to save his job. New York isn’t expected to challenge for a division title, but Ryan will need to make sure his defense takes a step forward after struggling last year, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see rookie quarterback Geno Smith under center at some point in the year. Ryan still has faith in Mark Sanchez, but the NFL live betting experts aren’t so sure that management feels the same way about the quarterback situation. The Jets are focused on taking steps in the right direction rather than competing for AFC Championships, and this could be another tough transition year for the franchise.

Buffalo Bills + 1600 -The Bills own the longest playoff drought in the NFL heading in to this year, and there is a good chance that mark will be extended to 14-straight seasons in 2013. Buffalo is in the first year of another rebuild under new head coach Doug Marrone, with first-round pick rookie quarterback EJ Manuel the new face of the franchise. The Bills still have a ton of weapons including running back CJ Spiller on offense and defensive end Mario Williams and could be a sleeper pick to make a run at a Wild Card spot, but they won’t be challenging the Patriots for AFC East supremacy this season.
