This year’s Pro Bowl will not be like previous games as their will be no AFC vs. NFC but it will be a “draft” of players for the two squads. There will also be a number of rule changes for this NFL Picks game that will be televised by NBC.

Here is a look at the 2013-2014 Pro Bowl, the players and the rule changes.

The San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs had the most players selected for the game at eight. Both of the team’s running backs, Frank Gore and Jamaal Charles were selected to play in the game. The top vote getter for the game was Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning who was selected to his 13th Pro Bowl. New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees was second in votes. Players were selected with a combined vote from fans, players and coaches.

Players from every time except the Atlanta Falcons, Green Bay Packers, Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Giants and New York Jets were selected. While most of the NFL’s top players were picked there were a number of players who didn’t get selected who deserve to be there including Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Lavonte David, Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis and New York Jets defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson.

New Format

This year the Pro Bowl will have a two-day draft with former players Jerry Rice and Deion Sanders selecting their rosters. A two-minute warning will be added to the first and third quarters with the ball changing hands at the end of every quarter. That should make the end of each quarter very exciting. There will be no kick-offs with teams starting at the 25 yard line.
