Bet On Frosted in The 2015 Belmont Stakes

In horseracing, the same as in life, sometimes you make your own luck like American Pharoah proved in his successful Run for the Roses. 2015 Belmont Stakes Coming soon.

2015 Belmont StakesSome others runners weren’t as fortunate. Most of the connections of the Kentucky Derby runners took the high road and talked about a ‘no excuse’situation but on closer examination, some runners were totally compromised.

Entering the Derby Frosted was just coming into his own. He showed his quality when second in the Remsen last year, ran well in a race he’d to need in the Holy Bull, but threw in a clinker in the Florida Derby when he added blinkers.

Trainer Kiaran McLaughlin then pulled a switch. He hired Joel Rosario to ride, authorized a throat procedure for Frosted that worked many times over time in California.

And Frosted responded with a visually impressive Wood Memorial win while going away and posting a 103 Beyer Speed Figure.

In the Derby he was a little rank leaving the gate, dropped well off the pace, had to try to loop the field while 5 wide and completed the superfecta while over 4 lengths free from the 5th finisher.

Owned by Godolphin, a very patient outfit, Frosted will live to fight another day and McLaughlin will allow horse tell him what’s next on the agenda. This runner has ‘improvement’written throughout him.

Like Dortmund, Materiality entered the Derby unbeaten. That ended Saturday but he got an environment of experience from the race. He broke from post 3, just outside stablemate Carpe Diem, a far more seasoned runner.

Materiality hesitated at the break, and was away dead last. He dropped far off the pace, lost ground when 4 wide down the backstretch, continued 4 wide to the the surface of the lane, kept to his task and showed considerable interest whenever a less talented runner would have thrown in the towel.

In his prior three races, Materiality had everything pretty much their own way. He learned in the Derby to compete and survive under adverse circumstances.

Danzig Moon and Bolo were involved with a bumping incident that hindered both of the efforts in the Derby.

Itsaknockout lost his best chance early on. He was steadied and jammed up beneath the wire for the very first time, raced and wide and was on the canvas before the real racing began.

Mr. Z and Ocho Ocho Ocho both had almost no potential for success in the Derby. Both are speed horses and their stamina was questionable. They still ought to be followed, maybe in shorter races moving forward.

Mr. Z checked repeatedly off horse’s heels early in the race, and was caught 5 wide and gave it up. Bolo will probably next show through to the grass and that’s where he belongs.

Bolo was jostled between horses and was in tight late before needing to eventually accept a 12-place finish.

The runners that are usually to mature and excel after this race are Frosted, Materiality and Bolo.

Bolo will in all likelihood be put back on grass and this really is his power game.

Frosted will be carefully spotted, Materiality will have the ability to use his tactical speed as time goes on while Bolo will get back to his winning ways once he seems the green grass of Del Mar.
