Betting Online – A Look At The 2012 BCS Odds

Those checking out Belmont Stakes odds will have to switch to baseball after the Triple Crown season is over, and then it transitions right into college football season, which will likely earn a lot more attention if the NFL lockout is still going on. Here is a look at a few teams to check out when the season kicks off on September 1st.

college-cheerleader-week-6Oklahoma (+350): The Sooners return 15 starters, including eight on offense which should give Oklahoma one of the best attacks in the country, led by quarterback Landry Jones and receiver Ryan Broyles. The defense will be motivated by the memory of linebacker Austin Box, who passed away recently.

Alabama (+550): The Crimson Tide are looking to keep the BCS title in Alabama after winning in 2009, then yielding it to rival Auburn last year. Alabama has their own tragedy as Tuscaloosa was hit hard by storms, so there is motivation there. They also welcome back 16 starters, including nine on defense. There are some holes on offense, but the defense is good enough to earn you a sports betting bonus for picking Alabama.

Boise State (+1200): The Broncos lost a few NFL picks to the draft, but they still have quarterback Kellen Moore, who will be a Heisman candidate. The biggest problem that Boise State has to worry about is possible NCAA sanctions for a slew of violations that the Broncos handed out discipline for, but you know the NCAA will want to get in on the action.

Oregon (+1250): Last year’s finalists who lost to Auburn are back with Heisman candidates Darron Thomas and running back LaMichael James leading the way, but they have some questions up front of offense as they try to work in a new line. Defensively, the Ducks have just five starters back, and that group will have to gel quickly in the Pac-12.

Nebraska (+2500): The Cornhuskers probably couldn’t have walked into the Big Ten at a better time, as Ohio State will surely fall after an offseason of violations and the resignation of coach Jim Tressel. Michigan is still rebuilding with new coach Brady Hoke. Wisconsin is probably their biggest obstacle when it comes to winning the conference, and we’ve seen the Big Ten get into the BCS title game in recent years. Their skill players, particularly quarterback Taylor Martinez, are a year old, and there are seven starters back in defense. Even with their youth, Nebraska could have the best offense in the conference, and the defense is good enough to power them through the early part of the season. The Cornhuskers are definitely worth a darkhorse wager when you’re betting online.
