College Football Predictions Week 11 – Oregon’s Perfect Season On The Line Against Stanford Thursday

The Oregon Ducks are an undefeated 8-0, but this Thursday night they will have a big College Football Predictions game with 7-1 Stanford Cardinal. The Ducks have one of the best offenses in the land, but Stanford allows fewer than 20 points per game and is coming off a 20-12 beating of the Oregon State Beavers. This game will have some national championship implications, making it one of the most important and intriguing games of the week for sports bettors.

College Football Predictions Oregon Ducks @ Stanford Cardinal. Sports Odds: Oregon -10. Although Stanford is a top ten team, the Ducks are given a ten points spread for this game, putting the pressure on their offense to continue dominating on the field. That shouldn’t be too tall of an order however as Marcus Mariota still has yet to throw his first interception of the year, but has already racked up 20 touchdowns and 2,281 passing yards. Mariota however is just as dangerous with his legs as the sophomore is averaging nine yards per carry, just a few more than standout running back De’Anthony Thomas. Thomas is back from his ankle injury, and although he was unable to do much against UCLA in his return to the field, expect him to play a bigger role against Stanford. The Oregon defense is better than many know as the most points scored against them all year was 38 by Washington State, and they held UCLA and Washington to just 38 combined points.

Stanford doesn’t have the dominating offense that most top ten teams posses, but they instead play solid defense and grind it out offense and so far it has worked in 2013. Stanford did have a bad loss to Utah a few weeks ago, but they have since rebounded and a win against Oregon would put them back in the hunt for a Pac-12 Conference Championship. Quarterback Kevin Hogan has adjusted well to throwing the ball more this season and although his completion percentage dropped 10% from last year, he has limited his turnovers so far and is the leader of a well-rounded offense.

Oregon’s offense vs. Stanford’s defense will be the premier matchup coming into this game, but Stanford hasn’t faced an offense of Oregon’s caliber all season long, which is the reason I think they will fall behind early. Stanford pulled the upset over Oregon last year, but with Mariota playing considerably better this year than he did last, I expect the Ducks to be success on offense and score enough points to cover the spread and leave California with an undefeated 9-0 record.
