College Football Week 6 Pick Against the Spread – Stanford To Host Ranked Washington Huskies

The Stanford Cardinals moved to the number five spot after four straight convincing wins, but will likely have a close game on their hands when they go up against the Washington Huskies. The Huskies beat the ranked Boise State Broncos in their first game of the College Football year, and now they are 4-0, ranked 15th in the nation, and have a true leader in quarterback Keith Price who has made them relevant sports betting option.

Odds: Stanford -7

The Huskies will go as far as their senior quarterback will take them. Price is in his first year starting for the Huskies, but burst onto the scene once given the opportunity and hasn’t disappointed as he is completing 72% of hiss passes, has thrown for over 1,000 yards, and has a nine to two touchdown to interception ratio.  While Price isn’t a do-it-all quarterback like so many other college football teams have, the Huskies don’t need him to be as they have Bishop Sankey who has over 600 yards rushing and a 5.8 yards per carry average. They will need both Price and Sankey to show up Saturday night if they have any hopes of upsetting the number five Cardinals. The odds makers seem to think the Huskies are for real as the spread is just seven points giving due respect to the players from Washington.Bet With the Game changer 50% Sign Up Bonus this week.

The Cardinals have begun solidifying themselves as a perennial top ten team as they are no longer relying on the arm of Andrew Luck or legs of Toby Gerhart to win games for them, but instead have a complete team that can beat almost anyone on any given night. The offense for the Cardinals is nothing special and is geared more towards the run, but considering they don’t have the type of top level athletes other programs get they have nobody standing out at the moment. The Cardinals feature senior Tyler Gaffney in the run game, but Gaffney has just 377 of the team’s 872 rushing yards showing they give other plenty of opportunities as well. The Cardinals offense hasn’t convinced me of much considering their opponents this season, but if they can move the ball easily against the Huskies on Saturday they will have proven themselves as a true top ten team.

The only standout offensive player in this game will be wearing a Washington jersey, meaning I am leaning towards favoring the Huskies and Price as individual players have a huge impact in college football games. The Huskies also have a more established and dominant run game than the Cardinals do, but it is the defense of the Cardinals that makes me nervous even though I am going with the Huskies to come out victorious.
