MLB Baseball Picks – Toronto Blue Jays at NY Yankees 7/27/14

The New York Yankees are riding fairly high after opening their 3 game set with the Toronto Blue Jays in a split. At 54-49 the Yankees are right at 2nd place in the AL East and are up on the Blue Jays by .5 a game. The importance of this set of games can not be understated. As the Yankees push forward to Sunday, where they will try and finish off Toronto in a noon game, the Bronx Bombers have their eyes set on the lead in their division.

NY Yankees Have to get it going soonThe Toronto Blue Jays have shown a plucky sort of never-say-die attitude. Despite losing their grip on the division they have not faded to the back of the pack. Only .5 games back of the Yankees, the Blue Jays will continue to try to gain a foothold in what has been a hard-to-hold division.

The Yankees will look to Shane Greene to hold the big Toronto bats at bay. Greene is 2-1 on the year with a 2.79 ERA. The young righty has been excellent in 2 of his first 3 career starts and will look to keep it rolling.

The Blue Jays are responding with J.A. Happ who is 8-5 on the year with a 4.55 ERA. Blue Jays are 8-2 in Happs last 10 starts with the total set at 9.0-10.5. Yankees are 2-8 in their last 10 vs. American League East.

The Blue Jays evened this three game series with 6-4 win yesterday, today in the rubber match Toronto makes it two wins in a row. Don’t be fooled by the Yankees starter stats as Greene is 2-1 with 2.79 ERA but with lack of experience it catches up to him today. The power hitting line-up of Toronto rings the bell several time today. MLB Baseball Picks bet on Toronto Blue Jays. Blue Jays are 7-3 in their last 10 games with West behind home plate.
