Another RFA target for Indy could be Emmanuel Sanders, who is also under reportedly under consideration by New England. In terms of the other UFAs, the market has been picked clean somewhat already, so the Colts would not be adding another impact player beyond Lloyd in NFL Draft, Robinson or DHB, and many would argue that those three aren’t impact players either.

NFL DraftThe Colts owner on Twitter account, has been talking about His Teams offseason plans in recent days, and that’s continued with his allusions to the addition of a WR. Some believed that the mystery wideout in question was New York Giants RFA Victor Cruz — the Colts have the flexibility to sign Cruz to an offer sheet the Giants would not be able to match — but to this point, that hasn’t been the case. So who might be on their radar?

“We want to add another wide receiver if we can,” Irsay confirmed to Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Star from the owners meetings in Arizona. For obvious reasons, Irsay didn’t disclose who that would be, but Chappell speculates that it could come from the trio of Brandon Lloyd, Darrius Heyward-Bey and Laurent Robinson.

How Landry helps Colts D – Even in a crowded market for safeties this offseason, Landry landed $24 million over four years. Other teams who reportedly had been interested in Landry, or at least could have been fits, included the Buffalo Bills, Philadelphia Eagles, Detroit Lions, St. Louis Rams and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

As for Landry’s impact on the Colts, AFC South blogger Paul Kuharsky writes that he should be able to help one aspect in particular on D: “Scouts Inc. gives Landry its highest rating in run support, and he should be a boon for a run defense that ranked 29th in the league last season and gave up an average of 5.1 yards a carry.”
