NFL Week 1 Lines – Season Opens up on Thursday, September 10

It’s time for you to put Deflategate behind us and play football. The defending champion New England Patriots, the team at the middle of the under inflated footballs saga, commences a fresh season hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers on NBC Thursday, September 10.

Thursday, September 10The Patriots could open the season without Tom Brady under center for the first time in 14 seasons as he faces a suspension from the NFL for his involvement in the deflated footballs controversy. A beginning line has yet to be established as oddsmakers wait to see if Jimmy Garoppolo gets his first NFL start.

The NFC is featured prominently in national broadcasts during Week 1 once the high-flying Philadelphia Eagles take their up-tempo offense to Atlanta in the initial of ESPN Monday Night Football’s doubleheader.

Behind coach Chip Kelly the Eagles will likely have the greatest over/under total weekly of the season. The sum total due to their game with the Falcons opened at 54.5, that is the greatest on the board in Week 1.

There’s been plenty of movement since the opening line arrived on the scene for the second Monday Night Football contest featuring the Minnesota Vikings and San Francisco 49ers. The Niners had what many think about the worst off-season in the annals of off-seasons, leaving their club in ruins.

San Francisco was a 3-point favorite on the opener, but the spread has since swung and only the Vikings, who are still 2.5-point chalk. The Vikes had a good preseason and Teddy Bridgewater looks like the real deal. Projected to finish third in the NFC North at +489 at BookMaker, Minnesota is a sleeper pick and has the equipment to overtake Green Bay at the the top of division.

NBC’s first installment of Sunday Night Football comes with a classic NFC East battle between once the Cowboys host the Giants. Both teams tip-toed through the preseason, but you understand they’ll get ready after the bell rings. The house team was installed as an early 5.5-point favorite with the sum total at 51.

The most truly effective two picks in the 2015 NFL Draft face one another when Marcus Mariota and the Tennessee Titans visit Jameis Winston and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a Sunday late game on CBS. Both quarterbacks showed promise during the practice games and one will win his first game in the NFL. The oddsmakers see this one as a tossup with the Bucs laying the original field goal for home-field advantage.

The Packers start the post-Jordy Nelson era after the star receiver and Aaron Rodgers’ favorite target tore up his knee in the preseason. The Pack opened as the greatest favorite in Week 1 at -6.5 against their division rival Bears and new head coach John Fox. FOX covers the early game on Sunday.

Along side Chicago’s Fox, other head coaches will debut with new teams. Rex Ryan takes over in Buffalo and gets a stiff test in his opener against the Colts in an earlier Sunday game on CBS. At home the Bills get 2.5 points against Andrew Luck.

The Todd Bowles regime gets underway in New York once the Jets host the Browns at 1 p.m. ET Sunday on CBS. The Jets are happy to see the season get underway after having a rocky preseason that saw their starting quarterback get his jaw busted with a teammate. New York is laying three points with the over/under at 40.
