NFL Week 1 Pre Season Picks 2013

The sportsbook reviews countdown is on for the 2013-14 Week 1 Pre Season, and fans can’t wait for the action to begin. The defending Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens will have a much different look when they kick off their preseason against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while the Cincinnati Bengals are looking to start their season off on the right note when they travel to face the Atlanta Falcons in preseason week one.

The Ravens will be without Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Dannell Ellerbe, and several other key members of last year’s Super Bowl-winning team, so the preseason will mark an important price per head period as the team looks to figure things out before the real games begin. Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco likely won’t see much time at quarterback on the offensive side of the ball, but the defense will look to get some reps early on with plenty of new pieces. There may not be a better opening test for a Buccaneers’ team that is looking to take another step forward this year under second-year head coach Greg Schiano, and there will be major additions on the defensive side of the ball that could get early looks. Cornerback Darrelle Revis may not play this early on in real competition, but safety Dashon Goldson should get some playing time as Tampa Bay looks to get its defense ready for the real thing. There is a ton of pressure on quarterback Josh Freeman to deliver this season or else, so look for the Buccaneers’ offense to come out firing as they look to get an early live betting win under their belt and build some confidence.

NFL Betting Pick: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Cincinnati Bengals @ Atlanta Falcons

Thursday August 8, 8:00 PM ET

Tampa Bay will face a ton of tough competition in the NFC South, as will the Bengals in week one of the preseason when they take on Atlanta. Cincinnati is a talented team that is looking to build on consecutive playoff appearances as a potential sports betting favorite in the NFC North, and its defense will be tested by Matt Ryan and the Falcons’ offense. Expectations are much higher in Atlanta after coming within one score of reaching the Super Bowl a year ago, and head coach Mike Smith’s job will likely depend on getting them there this season. The pressure on Atlanta to perform early on at home in the preseason will be more than what Cincinnati is facing, so look for Smith to give his starters a little bit of a longer look as they come out looking to set the tone from the opening game and steer themselves in the right direction to avoid any early negativity.
