Raptors head into All star Break on four game winning streak

New York was scorched by Alan Anderson for 26 points as Toronto beat NY 92-88 in a NBA Picks matchup Wednesday Night. The Raptors ended up closing as a 8-point underdog in the win, as they came through winning the game outright. The game went under the posted total set by Odds makers of 197.5.

NBA: Toronto Raptors at New York KnicksNew York got 26 points from J.R. Smith in a losing cause and another 16 points from Raymond Felton. Raymond Felton contributed 5 assists for the Knicks, while Carmelo Anthony had 12 rebounds. The free throw shots by them were crap tonight. Gay wasn’t even doing any scoring for the Raptors and they still managed to win game. Yes the Raptors had about few 3 point shots in but the Knicks missing scoring most of their teams foul free throw shots are killers. The Knicks don’t have that “team scoring killer instinct” to put opponents enough out of reach from coming back in the game from below them on the scoreboard to beat them after trailing the game.

I know that no Knicks fans want to hear this one, but this team offensively just looked unmotivated. The ball movement is gone and whenever they fall behind they go deeper and deeper into isolation play. The Knicks have already proven they can beat elite teams without their stars by moving the ball, they need to really enforce it again.

Toronto got 20 points from DeMar DeRozan and another 12 points from Kyle Lowry. Rudy Gay contributed 4 assists, while Landry Fields cleaned the glass with 10 rebounds. Toronto trailed at halftime, 42-37. The rebound battle favored New York as they grabbed 52 boards, while Toronto only had 35.

So basically Rudy and Carmello spent all of their energy guarding each other and making each other miss rather than hitting shots themselves.

“It feels good, the fact that my teammate Double-A stepped up. And DeMar does what DeMar does,” Gay said. “But on a night where I couldn’t throw a fish in the water, it feels good to still get a win.”

“I really can’t pinpoint it. We just haven’t been playing our game the way we know how to play offensively, some games it’s defensively,” Anthony said. “We seem that we can’t put a whole 48 minutes together the last couple of games.”
