The New York Knicks have been one of the toughest teams to project this year in the NBA. That hasn’t gotten any easier in the Eastern Conference 2nd round. The Knicks failed to show up in game one of their best-of-seven series against the Indiana Pacers, dropping a 102-95 decision at home. However, New York bounced back with a much stronger effort in game two, blowing Indiana away 105-79 to even the sports betting series at one win each. Now comes the tough task of trying to predict which Knicks’ team will show up for the remainder of the series, as it is now down to a best-of-five with the Pacers now holding home court advantage. The difference in game two was a ridiculous 36-4 third-quarter run that New York used to pull away, hitting 14-of-22 shots while holding Indiana to 0-for-14 from the field. The Knicks also won the battle on the boards over that span, outrebounding the Pacers 15-6 while forcing a 0/5 assist-to-turnover ratio. Carmelo Anthony scored 16 of his game-high 32 points during that live betting run, that came as a gift for the players that capitalized on the chance to play the in-game wager. Iman Shumpert, Raymond Felton, Pablo Prigioni, and Kenyon Martin all joined Anthony in double-digits scoring, which is more of what Knicks’ fans expected than what they saw from their team in game one. For as good as New York was in comparison to game one, the Pacers were also off their game and that played a major role in how the game played out. Indiana had hit 17-of-22 shots from within five feet through the first three quarters of game three. However, the Pacers took just one shot from within that distance in the fourth quarter, and failed to take advantage of their size with scorers like David West and Roy Hibbert. Indiana needs to play a physical style of basketball and try to overwhelm the Knicks down low, and if they don’t get back to what works moving forward they will have a tough time closing this price per head series out. Everything that we have seen through the first two games has only added to the confusion when it comes to trying to break down this second round series. The Knicks have the talent and ability to win this series and advance to the third round, but it’s hard to project whether or not they will show up and get the job done. The Pacers are a talented team that is just as capable of advancing to the next round and challenging the Heat for a spot in the NBA Finals, which makes this next sportsbook reviews week of action that much more exciting to tune in to as the story unfolds.
