UFC 169 Predictions – A Look at 7 Fights on Preliminary Card

There is a total of twelve UFC Predictions fights ready to go at UFC 169 on Saturday night in New Jersey and there is also 5 on the main card including Barao vs. Faber and seven on the preliminary card. The five fights on the main card are pay-per-view and the other seven on the preliminary card they will be seen on either Fox Sports 1 or UFC Fight Pass. Unlike the main card which has some big favorites, the preliminary card looks to have a lot of competitive UFC odds with no fights having huge numbers. Here is a look at all 7 of the preliminary fights, UFC odds and UFC 169 predictions.

UFC 169 Predictions John Makdessi -155 vs. Alan Patrick Makdessi has been streaking in his career in the UFC, winning two, losing two, and he has now won three in a row. He is favored against the unbeaten Alan Patrick who won his first bout in the UFC. This is a tough one to call but I think the experience of Makdessi will be the difference and he will get the win.

Chris Cariaso -150 vs. Danny Martinez  Cariaso has fought some good competition in his UFC career but hasn’t always come out on top. He lost to John Moraga and Jussier Formiga. He is coming off a win over Iliarde Santos. Martinez is a late replacement as he took this bout on just two weeks notice. I rarely take fighters who come in at the last minute and I think Cariaso is better anyway. I will lay the small number and take Cariaso.

Tom Watson -195 vs. Nick Catone I am surprised this number is so high as I think it is more of a toss-up. I will take the underdog Catone to win this one.

Al Iaquinta -245 vs. Kevin Lee This is not a guaranteed win for Iaquinta but he does have more experience and he has some definite striking ability. I think Iaquinta will probably win this one but the price is too high for me so I will pass.

Clint Hester -190 vs. Andy EnzI don’t think this one will last long so I will go under the rounds total.

Rashid Magomedov -243 vs. Tony Martin I think the price on this one is way too high as I think it could go either way. Magomedov does have the edge in experience but I am not that sold on him. I will take Martin simply as a price play as a big dog.

Gasan Umalatov -185 vs. Neil Magny Magny has not looked good of late losing his last two while Umalatov comes in at 14-2-1. I will make a small play in UFC 169 predictions on Umalatov to get the win.
