Week 10 NFL Betting Odds – Three NFL Head Coaches That Are On The Hot Seat

Week nine of the NFL season is here and while head coaches like Chuck Pagano, Andy Reid, and Pete Carroll have rewarded their team ownership and fans by leading legitimate playoff contenders, there are a number of head coaches that are on the hot seat for doing exactly the opposite. The Houston Texans, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers have all underachieved to different degrees this year, so it’s no surprise that the following three head coaches are on the hot seat heading in to this online betting week. Week 10 NFL Betting Odds Listed below.

Week 10 NFL Betting OddsGary Kubiak – Houston Texans – Kubiak may have taken a little more flack than he deserves to this point as ultimately the Texans’ quarterback play has been atrocious, but there are several quarterbacks around the league with a lesser skill set than Matt Schaub and they have had more online sports betting success thanks to the game plan and the fact that their coaches understand their limitations. Still, Houston owns the top-ranked pass defense in the NFL and arguably the league’s best running back tandem on offense, so the fact that they have lost five-straight heading in to this week’s showdown with the AFC South-leading Indianapolis Colts means that Kubiak is on the hot seat.

Chip Kelly – Philadelphia Eagles – It may be year one but there is a sense of urgency in Philadelphia as they try to turn things around, and considering the sports betting success that Andy Reid has had in his first year with the Kansas City Chiefs, it’s safe to say that Kelly is feeling the heat. The Eagles haven’t been able to keep up the offensive pace they played with at the beginning of the year and it actually seems to be regressing at this point, so a continued slide could lead to even more finger pointing. Injuries to Michael Vick and Nick Foles certainly haven’t helped, but the offense has stalled, the defense has been atrocious, and if Philadelphia can’t turn it around then Kelly could come under even more fire.

Greg Schiano – Tampa Bay Buccaneers – After seven-straight losses to open the year, it’s amazing that Schiano still has a job. It isn’t just the losses either. In a year when the Buccaneers were expected to take a major step forward in the NFC, the exact opposite has happened as they have actually taken major steps back on both sides of the ball. Quarterback Josh Freeman was benched and eventually traded to the Minnesota Vikings, and Schiano has forced rookie third-round pick Mike Glennon in to an awful situation in the starter role even though he isn’t ready for it yet. It hasn’t been any better on the defensive side of the ball either where Tampa Bay has failed to take advantage of the additions of Dashon Goldson and Darrelle Revis in their secondary, in big part because of an awful coaching scheme that includes forcing Revis to play zone defense even though he was an All-Pro playing a man scheme which he is best suited in. With rumblings of players being unhappy, barely any positives to take from a stretch of seven-straight losses to open the year, and no one area to rally around, it’s amazing that Schiano has managed to keep his job.
